Memoir Updates

I am currently working on writing my memoir.

Here’s a sneak peak:

This memoir describes my personal journey to overcome issues with depression, anxiety, a love addiction, and most importantly my search to find ‘Me’. Readers are given a glimpse into my world, as I struggle but ultimately find the inner resolve to use past battles as fuel to find success, happiness, and peace.

You may be wondering why this caged bird didn’t sing… well this little one had lost her voice… I had spent so many years being dominant that when I ran into a man who was just as dominant, it threw me a kilter and I went silent…

I remember it well, the day my tongue was cut out of my throat…

I recall leaving work, heading to the subway. I traveled my usual route. Walking down the busy streets, New York grit in my stride… Smiling at a few usual suspects who typically lined the path, that I walked to the subway. Upon reaching the terminal, I paid my train fare and headed towards the platform. However, this evening’s commute would not be typical, far from it! Little did I know, that it would be just the beginning…

I have only be exposed to this excerpt and I can already relate. I eagerly await the publication of this memoir. I feel it will provide a break thru for other women who have also lost their voice.

Thank you Shareema! I appreciate your feedback. I knew I had to swallow pride and fear, and share my story – as it may help another going through their own life struggles.
